So are you so desperate for a babysitter that you are willing to do really crazy things to find a babysitter?
Here are some of our favorites that I have heard of:
1. Advertise on a Billboard. Yep. Parents have actually purchased a billboard with the babysitting job on it. How’s that for getting some attention?
2. Radio ads. This one is expensive but I guess if you are desperate and have money…it might work. However, I am not sure I want the entire listening world to know every detail of the family schedule.
3. Crash a Girl Scout Meeting. There has to be some girls ready to babysitter there, right? (I wonder if they also offered to buy their cookies if they babysat?)
4. Hire their School Teacher. Actually, I am told that this one is not so odd, but it seems like it would be to me. Wouldn’t there be a conflict?
5. Yard Sign. Families have actually posted a sign in their yard asking for babysitting help.
Thank goodness you don’t have to resort to these crazy antics. Many parents are finding great babysitters online.
While that may sound almost as crazy as the things I mentioned, but it happens to be one of the safest an effective ways to find a babysitter in most places.
How Does It Work?
Depending on the site that you use, parents usually pay a small monthly fee to have access to job posting features, specific searches for sitters, interactive babysitting tools, online classes and more! Some even offer background checks so that you can be sure that the babysitter that you find in right for you.
Crazy ways may work to find a babysitter, but your neighbors won’t complain as much if you just try online instead!
