Sittercity and PETCO have teamed up to take the idea of speeddating and turning it into to “speedsitting” for pets! Yes, that is right…speedsitting for your pets!

Starting in select stores in New York and Chicago, Sittercity sitters will also be introduced in PETCO stores. The Speedsitting allows pet owners (and their pet!) to interview each petsitter for about five minutes, rotating through many different candidates to find the best match for their special pet or pets.

Although this does sound like a silly and fun afternoon…to some it is serious business. In fact, petsitting is getting more and more popular among pet owners. Many prefer it to kennel boarding because it allows their beloved pet to remain home– in safe, familiar environment. Fido can have normal routines, his own toys and his own food. He also won’t pick up any new nasty habits from other pets.

Petco has always been known for its dedication to helping pets. Since its inception in 1999, Petco has raised more than $34 million to help promote and improve the lives of all companion animals. They believe that petsitting is the best option for pets whose owners must be away from them. That is why they have chosen to host these events in some of their stores.
